By Anna Waites This chunky scarf is warm and cosy. Mine is a collar scarf but you could just keep on knitting until it's the length you want, and skip the buttonhole, for a normal scarf. You Will Need: Special Stitches Pattern Cast on 17 stitches. Knit one row, slipping first stitch.Waffle pattern: Row 1: Sl, [K1B, k1] across. Row 2: Sl purlwise, [PUK, k1] across until 2 stitches remain, PUK, pbl. Row 3: Sl, [k1, K1B] across until 2 stitches remain, k2. Row 4: Sl purlwise, [k1, PUK] across until 2 stitches remain, k1, pbl. Repeat these four rows until scarf is 55cm/22" long, ending with row 4. Work following row for button hole: Sl, [K1B, k1] 4 times, k2tog, yo, [K1B, k1] three times. Work rows 2-4 of waffle pattern, then rows 1-4 once more. Cast off. Attach button in the middle of the scarf, a couple of rows down from the cast-on row. This pattern is copyright 2007 Anna Waites.
